BYU was named a six-seed in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament on March 15, marking its third consecutive appearance in the tournament. The announcement was made during the NCAA Selection Show broadcast live on CBS.

The Cougars will begin play Thursday in Portland, Oregon, facing off against the winner of Texas and NC State in the Round of 64. Should BYU advance, they will meet either Gonzaga or Kennesaw State in Saturday’s second-round matchup.

This marks BYU’s 33rd all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The team holds a historical record of 17 wins and 35 losses in tournament play, including a 5-4 record when seeded sixth. Notably, BYU has never faced NC State or Texas previously in the tournament.

Game times and television details for BYU’s opening round game are expected to be announced at a later date.

The Cougars’ continued presence in March Madness highlights their consistency at a national level and sets up another opportunity for postseason success.
