The BYU Cougars men’s tennis team lost 4-0 to No. 5 TCU at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on Apr. 2.
With this defeat, BYU’s season record moves to 13-6 overall and 1-4 in Big 12 conference play, while TCU improves to a record of 16-5 and secures its third consecutive win.
In doubles competition, all three matches were closely contested early on. The Cougars managed to tie the score on courts one and two before TCU gained an advantage on court three with a final score of 6-3. The opening point was ultimately secured by TCU after they won a tiebreaker on court two.
During singles play, BYU earned first-set victories from Adam Chodur and Tygen Goldammer against ranked opponents Duncan Chan (No. 5) and Cooper Woestendick (No. 52), respectively. However, before these matches could conclude, TCU clinched the overall result with straight-set wins in other singles contests.
The Cougars will continue their road trip with a match against Baylor Bears in Waco on Saturday, where live scoring and livestream coverage will be available.
