BYU men’s golf was ranked No. 23 in the most recent Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches Poll released on Apr. 17.
The ranking reflects the team’s consistent performance this season, with BYU appearing in the top-25 for six out of seven poll releases. The Cougars maintained their position at No. 23 for a second consecutive poll, earning 94 votes—an increase of 14 votes from the previous ranking on March 27.
The highest ranking BYU achieved this season was No. 12, which occurred in the Oct. 10 poll. Since the last update, BYU finished fourth at The Goodwin and tied for third at the 79th Western Intercollegiate tournament. Kihei Akina led the team in both events, finishing as runner-up and then fifth place, which moved him to No. 7 on Scoreboard player rankings.
Other Big 12 programs also featured prominently in the top-25: Oklahoma State (No.6), Texas Tech (No.8), Arizona State (No.9), and Arizona (No.21). Utah received seven votes but did not make it into the top-25 list.
The current standings show Auburn leading with first place and Virginia and Texas following closely behind.
