BYU football held its eighth spring practice session on Tuesday, Mar. 17, as the team reached the halfway point of its scheduled 15 practices for the 2026 season.

The ongoing spring practices are an important part of the team’s preparation for the upcoming football season. These sessions allow coaches and players to evaluate progress, work on strategies, and build team cohesion ahead of fall competition.

After Tuesday’s practice in Provo, offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick and defensive coordinator Kelly Poppinga spoke with members of the media. The interviews provided insights into how both sides of the ball are developing during this phase of training.

The Cougars are set to return to practice on Thursday as they continue their spring schedule. The team is expected to complete all 15 sessions before concluding spring activities.

Spring practices offer a chance for returning players and newcomers alike to compete for positions and demonstrate improvement. Coaches use these weeks to assess talent and make adjustments that will shape the roster heading into summer workouts.
