BYU defeated Kansas 70-67 on Mar. 30 at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas, securing a spot in the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) Championship game.

The win marks the first time BYU has won four postseason games in a single season and gives the team an opportunity to play for its first postseason tournament championship.

Olivia Hamlin led all scorers with 23 points, including four three-pointers and an efficient shooting performance. Sydney Benally contributed 15 points with four made triples, delivering key shots late in the fourth quarter. Delaney Gibb added 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Lara Rohkohl anchored the defense with nine points, a game-high 14 rebounds and six blocks. Bolanle Yussuf also added six points off the bench.

Kansas started strong with an early lead but BYU responded with a run of its own. The teams traded leads throughout the game until BYU outscored Kansas by eight in the final quarter behind strong performances from Hamlin and Benally. A decisive 13-2 run late in the fourth gave BYU enough separation to hold off a late push from Kansas.

With this victory, BYU will face Columbia as they compete for their first WBIT title on Wednesday at 5 p.m. Mountain Time. The championship game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
