BYU baseball will host Oklahoma State for a three-game Big 12 series at Miller Park from March 26-28, marking the first time the Cowboys have played in Provo. The teams will meet for their 23rd matchup, with all games broadcast live on ESPN+ and available on BYU Radio platforms.
The upcoming series is significant as both teams are tied at 2-4 in conference play, and each is looking to improve its standing in the Big 12. BYU enters the weekend with an overall record of 11-12 after a recent five-game road trip that included wins over Utah Tech and Utah but losses to No. 20 West Virginia.
Shortstop Ryder Robinson was recently named Brooks Wallace Award National Player of the Week by the College Baseball Foundation. “Presented annually to the nation’s most outstanding shortstop by the College Baseball Hall of Fame, the Brooks Wallace Award also recognizes one shortstop each week as the national player of the week,” according to organizers. Robinson has been strong offensively this season, batting .323 with six home runs and leading BYU in stolen bases.
Other key contributors for BYU include Ezra McNaughton and Crew McChesney, who have started every game this season and rank among team leaders in several offensive categories. On pitching duties, seven Cougars have recorded wins so far; Ashton Johnson and Nate Gray lead with two victories each. The starting pitchers for this series will be Justis Reiser (Thursday), Wayland Crane (Friday), and Cayson Bell (Saturday).
Oklahoma State comes into Provo after winning a home series against Baylor but losing midweek to Missouri State. Historically, OSU leads the all-time series against BYU with a record of 17-5; their last meeting was a three-game set at Oklahoma State in 2024. The Cowboys’ scheduled visit to Provo in March 2022 was moved due to weather conditions.
OSU’s offense is led by Aidan Meola and Kollin Ritchie—Ritchie leads most major categories including home runs (14) and RBIs (37). On pitching staff, Ethan Lund stands out with three wins and leads OSU with 55 strikeouts.
The broader impact of this weekend’s games could influence both teams’ positions within conference standings as they seek momentum heading into future matchups.
