BYU baseball will travel to St. George to play Utah Tech at Bruce Hurst Field on March 17 at 6:05 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and available on BYUradio.org and the BYU Radio app.

The matchup is the second meeting of the season between the two teams, with BYU having won the previous contest 19-2 in Provo. This game marks their 22nd all-time meeting, with BYU holding a 17-4 advantage in the series since Utah Tech joined NCAA Division I in 2021.

Last week, BYU posted a strong performance, going 3-1 overall and securing a Big 12 Conference series win over Cincinnati. The Cougars’ offense was productive, scoring 41 runs across four home games and hitting .352 as a team. Key contributors included Ezra McNaughton, Ryder Robinson, and Crew McChesney, each maintaining batting averages above .300 for the season.

On the pitching side, BYU limited opponents to a combined .285 batting average last week. Austin Park earned a win against Utah Tech by allowing just two runs over five hits during a bullpen day that saw five pitchers take the mound. Garrison Sumner and Nate Gray also picked up wins during the Cincinnati series.

Utah Tech enters this game with a record of 13-7 and currently sits second in the Western Athletic Conference standings for 2026. Under head coach Chris Pfatenhauer’s leadership in his fourteenth season, Utah Tech started its campaign strongly but has lost its last four games.

Several players on BYU’s roster have ties to southern Utah high schools, including former Trailblazer Hurdsman who transferred from Utah Tech after starting his collegiate career there. Other local connections include Ridge Erickson and Cayson Bell from Dixie High School and Luke Anderson from Snow Canyon High School.
