BYU baseball will travel to Tucson for a three-game Big 12 series against Arizona, beginning April 23 at Hi Corbett Field. The games are scheduled for Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. Mountain Time (6 p.m. local), with the final game on Saturday at 2 p.m. Mountain Time (1 p.m. local). All games will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and BYU Radio platforms.

The series is important as both teams look to improve their standings in conference play. BYU currently holds a record of 20-19 overall and is tied for sixth place in the Big 12 with a conference record of 9-9, sharing the spot with Kansas State, Baylor, and Utah with twelve league games remaining. Arizona enters the weekend at 15-24 overall and is tied for thirteenth place in the conference alongside Texas Tech, holding a Big 12 record of 6-12.

This meeting marks the thirty-sixth matchup between BYU and Arizona. Historically, Arizona leads the all-time series with twenty-five wins to BYU’s ten over thirty-five previous meetings. Seventeen of those matchups occurred when both teams were members of the Western Athletic Conference from 1963 to 1978.

The two programs last faced each other during the previous season’s Big 12 play, where Arizona won two out of three games in Provo before defeating BYU again in the quarterfinals of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship held at Globe Life Field by a score of four to one. Following that victory, Arizona went on to win not only the conference championship but also advanced through NCAA regional competitions before reaching the College Baseball World Series.

After concluding this weekend’s series in Tucson, BYU will continue its road trip by heading north to Phoenix for a Monday afternoon game against Grand Canyon University at Brazell Field.
