BYU baseball lost to Kansas State, 16–3, in a non-conference game at Miller Park on March 31. The Cougars now hold a record of 13–14 (4–5), while the Wildcats improved to 19-10 (4-5).

The result matters for BYU as it reflects the team’s performance midway through the season and affects their overall and conference records.

Kansas State started strong with four runs in the first inning, including two home runs before BYU had an opportunity to bat. Ezra McNaughton responded for BYU with his ninth home run of the season in the bottom half of the first. However, Kansas State extended its lead over the next several innings, scoring back-to-back two-run frames and adding single runs in both the fourth and fifth innings for a commanding 10-1 advantage.

Easton Jones hit his tenth home run of the year for BYU in the sixth inning, bringing Ryder Robinson across home plate and reducing Kansas State’s lead to seven runs. Despite this effort, Kansas State added six more runs over the final two innings—including five in the eighth—to secure a decisive victory.

Jones finished with three hits and two RBIs while McNaughton contributed two hits including his solo homerun. Patrick Graham also recorded a double during Tuesday’s matchup.

Looking ahead, BYU will travel to Waco, Texas later this week for its fourth Big 12 series of the year against Baylor from April 2-4. The games will be available live on ESPN+ as well as radio coverage through various BYUradio platforms.
