BYU’s sprints, hurdles, throws, jumps, and pole vault athletes are scheduled to participate in the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational from April 2 to April 4 in Austin, Texas.

The meets will see a range of BYU competitors taking part across multiple events. Jayda Lee will open Thursday’s events with the hammer throw after finishing sixth at last week’s Trojan Invitational. Pole vaulters Cailee Faulkner and Abbie Scott are set to compete as well; Faulkner is coming off a win at the Trojan Invitational.

Kali McEuen and Mayci Taylor will conclude Thursday by running the 400-meter hurdles. Taylor recently earned the No. 8 spot in program history with her time of 58.04 seconds. The competition continues Friday with the women’s 4×100 meter relay team, followed by McEuen competing in the 100-meter hurdles as she aims for a place in the final round.

Alysa Keller and Kat Beachler will take part in javelin throw events; Keller recently won at last weekend’s Trojan Invitational with her best performance since the outdoor Big 12 Championships. Kaiah Fisher is preparing for another discus event after moving up to No. 5 all-time for BYU following her personal best performance at Utah Tech Invitational.

The Bobcat Invitational will also feature several BYU athletes including Lia Katoa, who ranks tenth all-time for BYU in discus based on her results from last season. Athletes such as Pili, Beachler, Lee, Katoa, Fisher, Johnson and others are set to compete across shot put, hammer throw and high jump throughout both meets.

These upcoming competitions provide an opportunity for BYU athletes to improve their rankings within program history while gaining further experience against strong fields.
