Brigham Young University (BYU) has announced the schedule and requirements for the 2026 BYU Cheer Squad in-person tryouts. The tryouts will take place over three days, starting on April 30 and ending on May 2.

Registration for Day 1 begins at 2:30 p.m., with tryouts running from 4 to 9 p.m. Day 2 and Day 3 of the process are scheduled for May 1 from 4 to 9 p.m. and May 2 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., respectively.

Prospective participants are required to fill out the BYU Cheer Squad Tryout Google Form before attending the tryouts. All other necessary documents, such as physical forms and letters of recommendation, can be brought in person if they cannot be mailed ahead of time.

A completed Tryout Physical Form is mandatory prior to participation. According to the announcement: “ALL Physicals MUST be within the last THREE months prior to tryouts and MUST be conducted by an MD or doctors office. We cannot accept physicals from a chiropractor.”

Applicants are also instructed to review both the Policies & Procedures and Judging Criteria available through official channels. Additional requirements include bringing a printed photocopy of a driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a $20 cash-only tryout fee for registration check-in.

The university emphasizes that these steps must be completed before candidates are allowed to participate in any part of the selection process.
