BYU and Utah State announced on May 5 that the two schools will play a two-game men’s basketball series beginning in the 2026-27 season.
The first game is set for Wednesday, Dec. 9 at the Marriott Center in Provo. The second game will take place during the following season at Delta Center, with each school receiving half of the available tickets for that matchup.
The Cougars currently hold a ten-game winning streak over the Aggies and lead the all-time series with a record of 146-92, including an 87-32 advantage in games played in Provo. The number of wins against Utah State is also BYU’s highest total against any single opponent, surpassing their win count against Big 12 rival Utah by nine victories.
In their most recent meeting on Dec. 8, 2021, Alex Barcello led four Cougars scoring in double figures as BYU secured an 82-71 victory at home. Barcello finished with a team-high of 17 points while Fousseyni Traore contributed another strong performance with fourteen points in just seventeen minutes, making three out of four field goals and converting all eight free throw attempts.
Looking ahead to these upcoming games, both programs are expected to renew one of college basketball’s long-standing regional matchups.
