On Thursday, March 26, Brooke Eyre, the former Timpview High School basketball standout, and her Colorado Mesa Mavericks fell 75-70 to the IUP Crimson Hawks in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
The matchup was held at 6 p.m. inside UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.
Maria Jose ‘MJ’ Barragan ended day one of the NCAA Louisville Regional tied for sixth place after shooting three-under par with three birdies. Head coach Carrie Roberts credited recent adjustments in Barragan’s technique for her strong performance.
BYU women’s basketball has signed Australian player Prasayus Notoa for its 2026-27 roster. Head coach Lee Cummard praised her versatility on both ends of the court while Notoa expressed excitement about joining BYU.
Kihei Akina has been named Big 12 Freshman of the Year while Simon Kwon earned Second Team honors in men’s golf. Both players’ performances were recognized by conference officials following strong seasons.
