Barragan finished tied for 11th place overall with a three-round total of 213, or three under par, making her the second-lowest individual in the event.
Head coach Carrie Roberts said, “We’re super proud of MJ and all that she gave this week. She left it all out there and we’re super proud of a really good finish and a really good event.”
Barragan’s performance included one birdie on the fourth hole and fourteen pars in her last round. Over the tournament’s three rounds, she posted scores of 69, 70, and 74. She recorded the fourth-best scoring average on par threes in the field and had among the fewest bogeys.
This season, Barragan competed in eleven events for Brigham Young University, achieving an average score of 73.66 over thirty-two rounds. Her results included three top-10 finishes as well as five top-15 and six top-25 placements during the year.
Over her collegiate career so far, Barragan has played in thirty-three events. She won one individual title at the USF Invitational in 2025 and has accumulated four top-five finishes along with nine top-ten placements.
Roberts added about upcoming plans: “She’s got the Epson Tour tournament tomorrow, and then we’ll start to get ready for her senior year, making her as good as we possibly can.”
Barragan is scheduled to compete next at Epson Tour’s Copper Rock Championship from May 14-16.
