Utah Valley senior high jumper Aubrey Tasker has been named the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) women’s Field Athlete of the Week for the meet week ending May 3, according to a May 5 announcement from the league.
Tasker’s recognition comes after she set a new outdoor personal best in the high jump at the SUU Coliseum Championships. Her mark of 1.70 meters, achieved on Thursday in Cedar City, is currently tied for best in the WAC with Natalie Poe of Abilene Christian.
Tasker is from Salem, Utah and has previously earned distinction as the reigning WAC indoor champion in high jump. She will compete next at the WAC Outdoor Championships, which are scheduled to take place from May 14 to May 16 on the campus of UT Arlington.
The upcoming championship presents an opportunity for Tasker to defend her title and potentially improve her standing within conference rankings.
Her recent performance highlights continued success for Utah Valley athletes during this outdoor track and field season.
