BYU’s AJ Dybantsa was named to the Phillips 66 Big 12 All-Tournament Team on Mar. 14 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Dybantsa’s selection highlights his strong performance during the tournament, where he set a new scoring record and helped lead BYU through three games. The recognition places him among top players in the conference for this season.
Arizona’s Jaden Bradley was named the Most Outstanding Player and joined Dybantsa on the all-tournament team alongside Brayden Burries of Arizona, Joseph Tugler of Houston, and Milan Momcilovic of Iowa State. During BYU’s three games in Kansas City, Dybantsa broke Kevin Durant’s tournament scoring record by totaling 93 points—one more than Durant scored during Texas’ run to the title game. The forward averaged 31.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game while shooting over 52 percent from the field.
In BYU’s opening round win over Kansas State, Dybantsa set a new freshman Big 12 Tournament scoring record with 40 points as BYU scored a conference tournament record of 105 points. He followed that with a performance of 27 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in a victory over West Virginia—the first time since 2022 that BYU won multiple games at a conference tournament. In their loss to No. 5 Houston, Dybantsa contributed another strong showing with 26 points.
BYU will learn its postseason fate during the Selection Show on CBS at 4 p.m. Mountain Time on Sunday, March 15.
